Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of isometric and plyometric training program on some physical variables and velocity curve of the 200m sprinters. The study was applied to 6 200m sprinters registered in the Alexandria and Cairo Athletics Region, and the training program was applied for an 8-week period ( 6 units per week, three units inside the weight room) . Using the ISO plyometric method, and three units in the track, the 200-meter race was filmed with a high speed camera 50 f / s to determine the velocity curve, the entire race was divided into 4 sections, each segment is 50 meters . The results showed that there were statistically significant significant differences for the research subjects for the following tests :30 m blockstart and flying start as well as 60 m running. The results also showed the existence of significant differences of statistical significance of the post measurement of the research subjects for 250 m, as well as standing long jump and 10 successive jumps and leg maximum strength . The results also showed the presence of statistically significant significant differences in the average horizontal velocity of the second and fourth sections and 200m race time
