Abstract

Summary of the research
This research aims to suggest exercises for functional strength and to know its effect on :
1. Core muscle strength and some physical variables (abdominal muscle strength - back muscle strength - leg muscle strength - balance).
2. Numeric level for the high jump competition.
The experimental method was used with the experimental design of one group using pre and post measurement for its relevance and the nature of the research.
The research community includes high jump juniors in the Cairo area under 18 years old who are enrolled in the records of the Egyptian Athletics Federation for the 2018-2019 sports season. The basic research sample was chosen from Al-Ahly club players and they were (5) players, (2) players from the same research community were selected from Army club in order to conduct a survey on them
The researcher reached the following conclusions:
Functional strength training has a positive effect on all the physical variables under discussion, namely (back muscle strength - abdominal muscle strength - leg muscle strength - moving balance - static balance).
• Functional strength training has a positive effect on the high jump skill under consideration, represented by the (numeric level).
