Muscles Activity Ratios of Forehand Smash As A Training Loads Indicator for Wheelchair Para-Badminton Players

Abstract

The study of the muscles activity help to determine the changes in the amount and speed of the nerve signal through which it is possible to obtain indicators of the physiological changes occurring in the nervous system. Forehand smash is one of the fastest strikes in the badminton and the most effective in scoring points, especially for the wheelchair para-badminton players. The aim of the present study was to determine the muscles activity ratios of forehand smash as a training loads indicator for wheelchair para-badminton players. Descriptive survey method was used. The study subjects were from the Egyptian wheelchair para- badminton high level players. Players performance was recorded and analyzed to determine the muscles activities. The main result was, the flexor carpi ulnaris of the triceps brachii had high ratio of muscles activity followed by extensor carpi ulnaris muscle of the overall performance of the forehand smash skill of the wheelchairs para-badminton players. The researchers recommended that the need to direct training loads during the development of training programs according to ratios of forehand smash Muscles activity of wheelchair para-badminton players.
