Abstract

The research aims to identify the effectiveness of teaching with the KWL self-schedule strategy on cognitive achievement and the trend towards a comparative physical education course for students of the third year at the Faculty of Physical Education for Boys, Alexandria University. The experimental method was used to suit it to the nature of the research. It was applied to a sample of (60) students from the third year at the college Physical Education for Boys - Alexandria University in the academic year 2018/2019. , It was divided into two groups, an experimental group, the cognitive achievement test was used for the comparative physical education course, the measure of trend towards the course, and among the most important results: improvement in the level of cognitive achievement and the trend towards the comparative physical education course for the experimental group from the control group during the post measurements as a result of the effect of using a strategy KWL) for the experimental group, the control group achieved an improvement in cognitive achievement and the trend towards the comparative physical education course under investigation as a result of the effect of using the lecture method. Comparison is a result of using the (KWL) strategy, and the researcher recommended using the (KWL) strategy in teaching the comparative physical education course because of its positive impact on cognitive achievement and the direction towards the course, and conducting similar studies using the (KWL) strategy on various theoretical courses in the Faculties of Physical Education.
