Abstract

This research aims to design an exercise program using tools with the health counseling model for obese children aged 9-12 years in order to identify the effect of the exercise program with the health counseling model in improving health-related physical responses (cardiorespiratory fitness, body composition, body weight, skeletal muscle strength, Muscular endurance, ability, agility, flexibility). Also the effect of the proposed exercise program in improving children's health practices. The researcher used the experimental method by choosing one of its designs (cardiac measurement - post-measurement) for one experimental group. The sample was selected from obese children aged 9-12 years old that did not practice sports activities, from the Gold's Gym health club. The research sample was chosen intentionally from within the research population. 20 children were chosen, consists of 10 children for the experimental group and 10 children for the exploratory group. This study showed that there are statistically significant differences between the two measurements in favor of the post measurement in all variables of the study (health/physical) except for the measurement (weight - hydration rate). Moreover, there are statistically significant differences between the two measurements in favor of the post measurement in all axes of the questionnaire except (the personal cleanliness). Therefore, the researcher recommends implementing the health counseling program because of its positive impact on acquiring health culture for children aged (9-12) years.
