Constructing a cognitive test for a set of skills in basketball

Abstract

The current research aims to build a cognitive achievement test for the cognitive aspects of some basketball skills for first-year middle school female students. The researcher used the descriptive approach using the survey method to achieve the research objective and its suitability to the nature of its procedures.

The research community included first-year middle school students at Al-Qanah School in the academic year 2023/2024 AD.

The number of female students participating in the exploratory experiments was (15) students. The sample size was (100) students divided into (5) classes. The researcher selected a deliberate sample of (55) students representing a percentage of 55% of the research community as a sample for application. They were divided into two equal and equivalent groups, each consisting of (20) students.

The most important data collection tools on true and false questions to measure the cognitive level of some basketball skills for female students. The test time was set at (10) ten minutes by choosing only one answer. It was taken into account that it should be contradictory and have one meaning. One of the most important results is that the cognitive achievement test is suitable for use with first-year middle school students for some basketball skills.
