The effect of psychological toughness on psychological manifestations associated with injuries athletes (predictive study)

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of psychological toughness on psychological manifestations associated with injuries athletes. Survey questionnaires are carried out to examine the research hypotheses. Research sample was selected intentionally and the basic research sample included (31) injured students as well as students who were injured before recovering from it, practicing individual and group sports , Faculty of Physical Education, Port Said University. The results showed a high and statistically significant correlation between the psychological toughness and the psychological manifestations of sports injures, where total of (12) statistically significant correlation coefficients were extracted. In addition, results show high and statistically significant predictive relationship between psychological toughness and the psychological manifestations of sports injures, as a total of (12) statistically significant predictive equations were extracted. And found a high and statistically significant negative correlation between the variables of psychological toughness and each of the feeling of low morale, feeling of inability to achieve, loss of self-confidence, feeling of anxiety and fear and the psychological manifestations of sports injury. Furthermore, there is a statistically significant effect for the relationship between psychological toughness and psychological manifestations of sports injures, thus achieving an overall statistically significant contribution rate of (33.33%).
