Abstract

The evaluation process of the summary of educational programs is extremely important, as it enables teachers to determine the level achieved by their teaching methods. It is not supposed to be limited to the technical aspect, but rather extends to include the skill aspect and levels of achievement. Kinematic analysis is one of the most important evaluation methods based on objective scientific facts in providing assessments.  The importance of this research lies in analyzing and evaluating the technical performance of female students in the weight throw event, in order to ensure the absence of technical failures that could be negative factors affecting their performance. The research aims to evaluate some of the kinematic variables of the weight throw event for fourth-year female students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, who
achieved the highest achievement in this event. It should be noted that they did not practice this event in the first-year track and field curriculum due to the spread of the coronavirus and the quarantine measures at the time. The researchers used a video camera and its accessories to record the attempts of the research sample members. They also used an electronic calculator and its accessories to analyze their best attempts and extract the values of the variables under study. They reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are:

It appeared that the quarantine and the interruption of practical teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant negative impact on the practical aspects of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, especially for individual activities that require the maximum performance of the individual's abilities.
