Abstract

• Objective of Research: This research aims to design a training program to reduce ankle injuries and improve shooting skills in female basketball juniors through the following:

- Identifying the effect of the proposed training program on some elements of physical fitness (muscle strength, balance, coordination, agility, and accuracy).

- Identifying the effect of the training program on shooting skills.

• Methodology: Experimental method.

• Research Population and Sample: The research population consisted of 22 female players under 18 years old from the Nasr City Sports Club, registered with the Egyptian Basketball Federation for the 2024-2025 sports season. The sample was divided into (12) players as the main sample and (10) players as the exploration sample, drawn from both the research population and outside it.

• Measurement Tools: BOSU Ball (half-ball air device), Ristometer for measuring height (in centimeters), Medical scale for measuring weight (in kilograms), Stopwatch for measuring time, Laptop.

• Key Findings: Statistically significant differences were found between the pre- and post-measurements in the experimental group, favoring the post-measurement in all the physical tests studied. The improvement percentages varied across the tests, with the highest improvement being in (muscular strength/accuracy) at 33.0%. The improvement value in the shooting test was (%45.8), favoring the post-measurement.

• Statistical Treatments Used: Descriptive statistics, Significance of differences (Leixson test), Significance of differences (Mann-Whitney test), Spearman's correlation coefficient, Improvement percentages (%).
