Abstract

Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of a sports health program with vitamin C and zinc intake on improving immune system functions and reducing the risk of infection among athletes by identifying (the effect of the proposed sports health program on improving immune system functions through a complete blood count (CBC), the effect of the proposed sports health program on reducing the risk of infection among athletes). The researcher used the experimental method using an experimental design for two groups, one of which is a control group and the other is an experimental group using pre- and post-measurement due to its suitability to the nature of the research. The researcher selected a deliberate sample of (30) players from (handball - table tennis - athletics) sports from Ismaili Club. One of the most important results was the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of the post-measurement for the experimental group and the control group in the variables related to the functions of the immune system (hemoglobin - red blood cells - white blood cells - IgA - IgE - IgG) in favor of the experimental group. One of the most important recommendations was to be guided by the content of the proposed sports health program due to its positive impact on improving the functions of the immune system and reducing the risk of infection.
