Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of an electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) training program on the physical performance level of kumite players in karate. The researcher used an experimental design with a single group, employing pre and post measurements to assess the program's effectiveness. The study population consisted of black belt karate players registered with the Egyptian Karate Federation for the 2023/2024 season, selected based on specific criteria. The total sample size was 18 kumite players, divided into a primary sample of 8 players and an exploratory sample of 10 players. The EMS suit was integrated into the training program, and the results showed a significant improvement in the players' physical performance level. The study recommends conducting further experimental research using EMS suits for various karate skills, highlighting its potential to enhance athletic performance. The findings suggest that EMS training can be a valuable addition to karate training programs, enabling players to achieve better results in competitions. This research contributes to the development of innovative training methods in karate, providing a competitive edge for Egyptian athletes in international competitions. The study's results have positive implications for coaches seeking to improve player performance.
