ABSTRACT Due to the development in sports performance, any player must be exposed to sports injuries, so It has become a great interest in the medical field, which may cause this injury from a chronic injury. The study aimed to identify the types and locations of sports injuries in the sample. The research sample was from the players of the Iraqi Premier League for football, numbering (16) players. As for the research methodology, the researchers used the descriptive method with the survey method due to its suitability and the nature of the problem. As for the procedures used, they were through the use of the (GPT) application, a questionnaire form, and data on injured players ar the Specialized Medical Center for Sports Injuries. The results of the research were that bruises had the highest percentage of (37.5%), and sprains came in second place according to the percentages they obtained, which was (25%). As for the tear, its percentage was (18.75%), while the dislocation had a percentage of (12.5%). As for fractures, it had the lowest percentage of (6.25%). The calculated value of (KS) was (12.07) and the significance was (0.017), which is less than the significance level of (0.05). As for the conclusions, the most common injuries in the research sample are in the lower extremities. The importance of the research was evident in knowing the common sports injuries that occur to players while playing football, as sports medicine is interested in studying all medical aspects related to the athlete, from prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation until returning to the stadiums. The problem of the research was that there are many players who have injuries, some of which have been repeated in many players and subjected them to the possibility of permanently staying away from the game. This is considered a moral and material loss for the player himself and a national loss if the injured player is part of the national team formations
