Psychological hardness and its relationship to motivation of achievement for some tennis players

Abstract

The study sought to identify:
1- The level of psychological stiffness with its dimensions (commitment, control, challenge, total score scale) of some tennis players under consideration.
2- The degree of motivation of achievement for some tennis players under consideration.
3- The relationship between the level of psychological stiffness and achievement motivation for some tennis players under consideration.
The researcher used the descriptive, relational approach to its relevance to the nature of the study and the achievement of its objectives.
The researcher has chosen a stratified random sample of tennis players from the rowing club in Port Fouad, the marine club in Port Fouad, the flower club in Port Fouad, the fishing club in Port Said, the youth center of the stadium in Port Said, and they numbered (40) players, the average years of practice from five to ten years, and the average age of 18 years of males.
Conclusions:
- The level of psychological stiffness with its dimensions among some of the tennis players under investigation came at a high degree.
The degree of motivation of the two-dimensional achievement for some of the tennis players in question was high.
- There is a positive correlation between psychological rigidity with its dimensions and the motivation of achievement in the dimension of the drive to achieve success, and a negative correlation with the motivation to avoid failure, as well as a negative correlation between the motivation to achieve success and avoid failure among some tennis players under consideration
