Abstract

The objectives of the research: The researcher aimed to identify the percentage of counter-attack performances against the offensive performances of the Algerian team participating in the African qualifying tournament for the Olympics 2020, as the team leading the tournament, as well as to identify the differences in the use of the counter-attack in the part of the answer and the opposite according to the categories of the balance of competition, rounds of matches and places of punching on the ring during the rounds The
Research procedures: Research method: The researcher used the descriptive approach (content analysis)
Research sample: The research sample included (56) matches
Main findings and conclusions
1- The study showed the importance of counterattack in boxing training.
2- The percentage of the counter-attack’s contribution to the effectiveness of the performance increased .
3- The counterattack punching tactics that have colored matches in the counterattack match are becoming clearly evident.
4- Light and medium weights appear to be the highest in reliance on the counterattack as it requires quick response and speed
5- The performance of boxers of heavy weight groups during the championship was characterized by the dependence on long and medium distances during the performance of the counter-attack, which reflects the change in the training method followed from the methodology that prevailed by relying on the strength of performance and superiority through relying on strong punches from short distances.
6- The middle of the ring remained the most common place for counterattack
