Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of using the "Stepans" model on reflective thinking and cognitive achievement on the History of Physical Education and Sport's course, The researcher used the experimental method to fit the nature of the research. By applying a sample of (40) students those who didn't pass a test of History of Sport and Physical Education (old list), Faculty of Physical Education for Boys - Alexandria University for the academic year (2020-2021) in the first semester. The sample was divided into two equal groups, an experimental group to which the "Stepans" model was applied and its number (20) students, A control group on which (the lecture method) was applied and its number (20) students, The researcher used the scale of reflective thinking which prepared by: Camper et al (2000), The cognitive achievement test for the History of Physical Education and Sport's course was prepared by the researcher, Among the most important results: the usage of the "Stepans" model had a positive effect on the cognitive achievement and reflective thinking of the experimental group, And the lecture method had a positive effect on the cognitive achievement and reflective thinking of the control group, The rates of improvement in cognitive achievement and reflective thinking of the experimental group were higher than the control group ,
