Suggested model for physical education teacher performance standards in light of Metacognitive strategies

Abstract

The study aims to design a proposed model for physical education teacher performance standards in light of metacognitive strategies. The researcher used the descriptive approach in the survey method. The study sample was chosen randomly from the teaching staff specializing in curricula and teaching methods, mentors, physical education teachers and members of some quality Faculties of Physical Education and the total number of the sample was 286 subjects divided into 23 for the exploratory study and 263 for the basic study. The researcher used the questionnaire (the researcher  preparation) as a tool to collect data, the researcher conducted the basic study in the period from 9/8/2020 until 11/12/2020 The results of the study reached the direction of the responses of all the groups of the research sample towards responding appropriately to all the criteria. The criteria for the performance of the physical education teacher were reached in the light of metacognition strategies and the most important criteria were the principle of operation and the most important of its phrases helped students determine what they know and what not. They know at the beginning of the teaching of sports activity, the principle of contemplation, and its most important phrases were to devise ways to help students think visually of mathematical skill, the principle of sentimentalism, and its most important phrases were He is proud of the teaching profession of physical education and is aware of its importance and mission, the principle of functionalism.
