Recreational Awareness in Using Social Networking Sites during Leisure Time for Female Students at the College of Basic Education in Kuwait

Abstract

The research aims to identify the level of recreational awareness in the use of social networking sites during free time for female students at the College of Basic Education in Kuwait. The descriptive survey method was used to suit the nature of the research. The research sample was selected from the students of the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the College of Basic Education - female, who numbered 268 students. The most important results are that there are statistically significant differences between the responses of the research sample in measures of the use of social networking sites among female students of the College of Basic Education. And there are statistically significant differences between the responses of the research sample regarding the purposes of using social networking sites. Also, there are statistically significant differences between the responses of the research sample regarding the importance of communication through social networking among female students of the College of Basic Education. Finally, there are statistically significant differences between the responses of the research sample in the degree of recreational awareness among female students of the College of Basic Education.
