Abstract

This study was based on the idea that studying mental abilities and the possibility of classifying them and determining their trends according to the Hermann scale, inwhich specific functions of the four sections of the brain (objective - executive - emotional - creative) were identified, played an effective and important role in advancing the components of logical thinking at Al-Mustansiriya University. The researchers adopted the descriptive, analytical and statistical approach in treating variables based on standards consistent with the objectives and nature of the environment being investigated.
The researchers applied the study in the departments and colleges of Al-Mustansiriya University, and a purposive sample of its leaders was chosen, numbering (50) trainers holding master’s and doctoral degrees. The scientific aspect relied on preparing a questionnaire that included (20) items distributed over (5) questions for each axis, using a five-point Likert scale. In terms of data analysis, we relied on the descriptive and statistical method using the following equations (weighted arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient (r), coefficient of determination (R2) within the (SPSS ver-10) program). The problem of the study was expressed with a set of questions of a theoretical and applied nature, which were formulated in the form of hypotheses for the study. The study was applied in a population represented by supervisors of sports activities at Al- Mustansiriya University, on a sample of (50) supervisors. Data was collected through a logical thinking scale, which includes (34) items.The researchers reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are:
